Who is it for?

The light touch used in craniosacral therapy makes it suitable for all ages, from new born babies to centenarians. People may come because they have acute physical problems, like headaches or bad backs, or long-standing problems, both physical and emotional. Those who are experiencing acutely painful conditions or who feel too fragile for a more active form of bodywork find craniosacral therapy meets their needs. Mothers and babies often come with problems associated with difficult or traumatic births.

What happens during a session?

During the first session the practitioner will take a case history, asking you questions about your health and well-being. Generally the client lies on a comfortable treatment table, although it is possible to remain seated , and parents hold babies in their laps. The practitioner will make gentle contact with the feet, head and sacrum and areas of pain or discomfort (over loose clothing). The first session lasts an hour and a half, and subsequent sessions one hour.

What will I experience?

People generally experience a profound sense of relaxation, and at the same time a feeling of being more alive and connected. A deepening awareness of the body, warmth and tingling, tensions easing.

Is it for me?

If you have any queries please contact me and I will be happy to answer them.

How many treatments will I need?

We all respond differently, sometimes, people experience relief after two sessions, but for long-standing problems further sessions are needed. As a guideline, you should begin to notice significant changes after 7 sessions.

What should I do after a session?

After a session , there may be a short period of adjustment , so its helpful to be able to rest, or at least do nothing strenuous.

How does Craniosacral Therapy work alongside conventional medicine?
